DIOR: Watch today's show from Paris

The House is now run by Bill Gaytten. Christian Dior was an influential French fashion designer, best known as the founder of one of the world's top fashion houses. For his first collection in 1947, he created the extremely popular "New Look", which featured rounded shoulders, a cinched waist, and a very full skirt. Dior created an opulent clothing style which contrasted with the severe living conditions of post-war France. In 1957, after Dior’s death, Yves Saint Laurent became the creative director, followed by Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre. In 1996, John Galliano became the director but was summarily dismissed right before the FW2011 Show because of accusations of anti-semitism. ©Courtesy of FirstcomesFashion.com
